Description |

A rewarding post closely linked to the development of the youth members. Assistant Leaders are there to take an active part in delivering the Sectional programmes. Running games and activities and badge work, helping with the training of youth members. |

Description |

A more challenging post closely linked to the development of the youth members. Section Leaders coordinate the delivery of high calibre Scouting in their Sections. They coordinated the Sections activities within the Group and District framework and coordinate and guide their Sectional Assistants and helpers. They also take an active role in running games, activities, badge work, and training youth members. |

Group Scout Leaders |

A more management biased role requiring the coordination of Beaver, Cub and Scout sections (and possibly Explorer Unit if not District based). To ensure the quality of Scouting is being delivered within the Group, to support the selection and mentoring of Adult members of the Group. To facilitate the movement of members between sections and the coordination of Group wide activities. |

Group Committee Members |

Description |

Part of the behind the scenes team keeping the Group running in financial and practical terms. Every Group Needs a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, some also need Grounds people, Fundraisers, Hut maintenance coordinators etc. (If you ask your Local Group's Leaders they will be able to tell you about the requirements of the Group) |
Qualifications |

No formal qualifications needed. But it is advisable that you have some qualification or experience in the role you undertake. That is you may handle cash books for a local business and would suit the treasurer's role. You may be a team Leader at work and would like to lend a hand as a Chairperson. Although you do not necessarily have direct contact with youth members most Groups ask that you are prepared to undertake a CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) check |

County Treasurer |

Honorary role responsible for financial management and reporting, investment activities and obtaining funding /grants. The Treasurer is supported by a paid County Administrator, based in the County Office in Kendal, who carries out the day-to-day book-keeping. |

County Secretary |
